Géoclaste's mission is to offer a range of specialized services in geological engineering and geological consulting, allowing clients to benefit from turnkey projects and personalized support throughout the mandate by engineers and geologists specialized in rock mechanics, geology, and geotechnics.

As a company specialized in geological engineering and geology, Géoclaste offers strategic consulting services to numerous clients in the fields of tunnels, deep excavations, as well as in the areas of quarries, sand pits, and cement plants. OUR STORY

Géoclaste was founded in 2021 by Carlos Pelletier Martinez, a geologist, member, and former president of the Ordre des Géologues du Québec. Since then, he has surrounded himself with a team of exceptional professionals to meet the needs of his clients.

HEALTH AND SAFETY AT GÉOCLASTE 

Aware of its responsibilities and the importance of prevention in occupational health and safety (OHS), Géoclaste has a policy to deliver its services under the best possible conditions by establishing and maintaining a safe work environment. To achieve this objective, Géoclaste's prevention program will apply to all individuals and suppliers involved in the projects and will serve as a cornerstone for the implementation of OHS prevention standards. In addition to the elements described in this general document, Géoclaste and its subcontractors must comply with applicable laws and regulations regarding occupational health and safety. To ensure continuous improvement, the prevention program will be reviewed regularly. The control of preventive and corrective actions will be carried out. This review will be annual and more frequent as needed. Indeed, it is also necessary to ensure that the program is adapted to the various changes that occur in the workplace (structural changes, addition of activities, regulatory changes, discovery of new risks, etc.).

Carlos Pelletier Martinez, géo., CPI, M,ing.

President

Carlos has 10 years of experience in geology and geotechnical engineering applied to the fields of quarries and sand pits, as well as in cement plants in Quebec and Ontario. A member and former president of the Ordre des Géologues du Québec and a candidate for the engineering profession, he has strong experience in geomechanical and geochemical characterization of rock masses. Known for his interpersonal skills, rigor, and motivation, your challenges will become his! Innovation and exceeding his clients' expectations are a priority for him.

Catherine Lavergne, ing., M.Sc.A.

Vice-president and Technical Director, Engineering and Geology

With nearly 10 years of experience, her academic and professional background has allowed her to acquire a wide variety of knowledge and skills in geology, geotechnics, rock mechanics, design and monitoring of open-pit excavations and tunnels in rock, as well as in multidisciplinary teamwork and project management. Known for her communication skills and professionalism, Catherine will assist you in the technical aspect of your projects.

Philip Dumont, géo.

Project Manager, Quarry, Cement Plant, and Geology 

Philip has 15 years of experience in the field of geology, having actively participated in several exploration projects in Canada and abroad, as well as numerous geotechnical studies in Quebec for over 5 years. A member of the Ordre des Géologues du Québec, he studied Resource Geology at the Université du Québec à Montréal and volcanology at the Université de la Réunion. He has strong experience in the exploration of volcanogenic and mesothermal orogenic deposits, geological mapping, geomechanical and geochemical characterization of rock masses, 3D modeling, and teaching geology. He is responsible, competent, methodical, and has very good analytical and synthesis skills.

François Laniel, ing.

Project Manager, engineering, rock mechanics and geotechnical

With over 7 years of experience in the field of rock mechanics, his areas of expertise extend across various domains, including project management, coordination of geotechnical investigations, geotechnical and hydrogeological characterization of rock masses, as well as stability studies and the design of rock slopes. He has participated in geomechanical studies at different levels, ranging from conceptual to pre-feasibility and feasibility, for both open-pit and underground mines. Recognized for his versatility, interpersonal skills, and critical and analytical thinking, he will be able to find suitable solutions for your projects.

Olivier Beaulieu, géo., M.Sc.

Technical Director, Quarries, Sand Pits and Cement Plants

Olivier has over 15 years of experience in the field of consulting and the operation of quarries and sand pits. He has previously served as a resource development advisor responsible for more than fifteen sites. Olivier specializes in planning operations, site development, resource optimization, and the management of geological and geotechnical risks of open-pit excavation sites. Having worked for a quarry operator himself, he is well-positioned to understand his clients' needs, have an overview, and take your site to the next level!

Marc Deschênes, géo.

Head of Expertise, Quarry, Cement Plant and Geology

Internationally renowned expert in the fields of cement and aggregate, geology, and mining, Marc has experience in both functional and production roles for the operation of quarries and cement plants. Marc also specializes in conducting several economic studies that have saved millions of dollars for various cement companies around the world. A successful team leader and excellent communicator, he will assess your site, propose optimization strategies, and support you in implementing your solutions to improve your production, processes, and the judicious use of your resources.

George Ngo, géo.

Technical Coordinator, engineering, rock mechanics and geotechnics

With over 7 years of experience in civil engineering and construction, George has participated in numerous large-scale projects in Quebec and Ontario, allowing him to acquire in-depth expertise in rock mechanics and structural geology applied to civil engineering. His experience includes managing excavations through drilling and blasting, giving him a solid understanding of vibration control in rock and soil. Equipped with a quick learning ability, resourcefulness, curiosity, and autonomy, he is ready to take on your challenges.

Vanessa Sanchez, géo., M.Sc.

Technical Coordinator, Quarries, Sand Pits, and Cement Plant

Vanessa has over 5 years of experience in geology and applied geological engineering in the fields of quarries and civil engineering. She has conducted several drilling campaigns that included numerous water injection tests and geophysical surveys, as well as geological and geomechanical descriptions. She has also created several 3D and 2D geological models for various quarries and cement plants in Quebec and Ontario. Through her projects, she has developed organizational and teamwork skills. Her experiences on job sites have allowed her to enhance her communication and problem-solving skills.
